Public Relations is an essential activity in the City of London and the UK is a world leader in this profession. The City of London Guild of Public Relations Practitioners was formed in June 2000, with the aims: to promote and maintain excellence in the practice of our profession; to support education and training of practitioners; and to build charitable funds through which the public relations profession can give back to the communities it serves.
The PR industry is part of a national launch to establish a thriving social enterprise sector that can increase our social impact and foster greater diversity in our profession. The Guild and the PRCA are proud to support the national initiative led by the City of London Corporation, Cabinet Office, Social Enterprise UK and Aspire Group, to call on agencies and in-house teams to discover how they can ‘buy social’ and achieve greater social benefit through their buying practices. Comments from the panel of speakers at the Guild’s ‘Buy Social Forum’, held in June, can be read here.
The Guild is affiliated with the Media Operations Group (MOG) of the Army Reserve and the Media Operations Specialist (MOS) branch of the Royal Naval Reserve.
